Raymond d’Huy – 1994

,

🎸🎹🌴🎶🔥 After starting out with his brother Philippe, dabbling with the CaraĂŻbe Jazz Ensemble, Raymond d’Huy went solo in 1994 with this album on which he plays and programs the vast majority of instruments, on his own compositions. He invited a few friends, including Germain CĂ©cĂ© and JosĂ© Vulbeau from the CJE, but also Fred Desplan and Klod KiavuĂ© or FĂ©lix Saint-Cirel. Raymond, bassist extraordinaire, gives full rein to his talent as a musician, with melodies ranging from Creole jazz to funk and zouk. The synthesizer sounds may have aged a little, but Exotic Girl and Domino, for example, remain particularly successful themes, which the bassist would not hesitate to repeat and rearrange throughout his career.
