Live – Sixun, 1989

,

đŸŽ¶đŸŽčđŸ„đŸŽžđŸŒđŸ•ș Sixun have recorded very little on vinyl. Only the band’s first four albums exist in this format. We’ve already presented the first, Nuit Blanche, here. And here’s the fourth, the fantastic Sixun Live, released in 1989 on Bleu Citron. To be exact, Live was also released on CD, and with a much longer programme. And I have to admit that even though I have a clear preference for the vinyl format, in this particular case, the length argument carries weight! On percussion, it’s Jaco Largent who takes over from Idrissa Diop since the previous year and the Explore album. As for the rest, the same five musicians – Michel Alibo, Louis Winsberg, Jean-Pierre Como, Alain Debiossat and Paco SĂ©ry – are still with us, and in top form. A concert-length version with plenty of space for everyone, this Live deserves all the praise it gets. To hear Sixun live again on record – on CD – you’ll have to wait for the twentieth anniversary album, recorded at La Cigale in 2006 and Marciac in 2009.
