Almost forty years old for this Waka Juju from 1982. Manu Dibango celebrates Afrobeat and juju music from Nigeria in his own special way, with his own very special re-reading. One of my favourite Manu Dibango albums (after all, I have quite a few favourites…). As usual, the saxophonist is excellently supported by Michel Alibo, Brice Wassy, Wally Badarou, Jean-Claude Naimro, Jerry Malekani, Jean-Pierre Coco, Pierre Tchakounté and Richard Descieux!
