🇫🇷 🎹 🎷 🎶 ✨ These three musicians have been illuminating French jazz for about fifteen years, and while two of them have been closely followed at Le Bananier Bleu, the third is by no means a stranger to us. The Getdown is formed by Arnaud Dolmen, Grégory Privat, and Laurent Coulondre, featuring an original piano/organ combo—a format with remarkable predecessors like Basie, Peterson, and more recently Petrucciani and Louiss. This trio delivers a fresh incarnation of jazz, rich in groove, warmth, and virtuosity, with a repertoire entirely composed of original tracks. Drawing from diverse influences, they move from blues to biguine (Merci Biguine), funky rhythms (Uno Mas), and even carnival-like energy (Andidan). The result is joyful, blending a retro vibe driven by the B3 organ with modern compositions and arrangements, making the whole project utterly captivating. Let’s dive back in.
