🎸🎤🌟🎶🎷 François Misse Ngoh is one of the leading lights of makossa. The guitarist and singer started out with Nelle Eyoum’s Los Calvinos in the 1970s, but his personal successes soon made him the natural leader of the group. The band performed regularly at Mont Cameroun in Douala before Misse Ngoh went solo. The quiet man of makossa had a string of successes on albums where makossa rubbed shoulders with funk and blues… On Nasi Ma Sunga, in 1980 – and in addition to some particularly well-crafted makossa – we can appreciate the afro-funk of Njonjo Mukambe, led by the rhythmic pair Aladji Touré and Donald Wesley and which ends with the scorching chorus of André Belinga on saxophone.
