Les Vautours au Hit Parade – Les Vautours, 1968

🇬🇫 🎷 🎭 🎶 💃 At just 19 years old, in Cayenne, José Sébéloué met Daniel Nugent, who recruited him into his group, Popcorn. Together, they founded the famous Vautours de Guyane. The band released its first singles in 1968, including « Les Vautours au Hit-Parade« , which achieved immediate success. This short EP features an instrumental bossa track, followed by a dive into Carnival 68 rhythms blending soca and calypso. On the B-side, the Vautours cover a compas by Michel Desgrottes, A Tiou Pou Tiou. In short, two sides designed to get people dancing at the surboums of the time! José Sébéloué later joined Roland Louis’s Zouker’s, before becoming one of the founders of Compagnie Créole.
