Explore – Sixun, 1988

đŸŽčđŸ„đŸȘ˜đŸŽ·đŸŽș🌍 In 1988, Sixun released its third album, Explore, which, like its predecessors, contained its share of successes and explorations (hence the name…). This time, the Fantastic Six were joined on percussion by Jaco Largent from Guadeloupe, who replaced Idrissa Diop and stayed with the group for three albums. In a similar vein, Largent will later be heard with Yoman, formed by pianist Fabrice Devienne. Explore continues the group’s global quest, touching on jazz, Africa, the Caribbean and rock… with great pleasure. The whole record is an excellent vintage, and the very funky Petit Chartier, composed by Paco, will be one of the tracks that is still regularly covered by the band on stage. Meanwhile, the ravages of the CD are beginning to be felt, and the digital version of the album comes out with four tracks that vinyl regulars won’t hear…
