Expérience – Ange Ebogo Emerent, 1984

,

We start the year in Cameroon. In 1984, Expérience was the album that finally opened the doors to success for Ange Ebogo Emerent, particularly with the track Okon Makon, a decade after his debut. A first side bikutsi, backed by the references of the genre. The guitars of Zanzibar and Pierrot Ahenot, the bass of Martin Maah, the drums of Ateba Moon and the arrangements of Jean-Marie Ahanda, the essence of Têtes Brulées is there! On the other side of the room, the same line-up switches from reggae to makossa, not forgetting the keyboards of Douglas Mbida and the brass of Jimmy Mvondo and Freddo Tete. Ange Ebogo Emerent will continue to produce albums on a regular basis, even if his talents as an arranger keep him busy and leave him little time for his own music. He has long been recognised as one of the leading lights of bikutsi in Cameroon.

And best wishes to you all!
