🇨🇺 🎻 🎶 🚀 💃 The flutes and violins take centre stage in this third volume by Charanga Casino. The Cuban ensemble, produced by Roberto Torres, is at its peak on this album with its futuristic cover art. In 1980, Charanga is conquering space! Under the direction of Felipe Ramos, six tracks blend son montuno and son cubano, offering little respite. The repertoire includes classics like Me Voy Pa Moron, or the exceptional version of Yo Te Voy Hacer Caso, complete with the inevitable references to El Manicero and Stormy Weather, which are utterly delightful. The orchestra’s own compositions are equally successful. At the end of side A, a pleasant surprise: a cover of Preguntale, composed by Julio Iglesias, but stripped of its saccharine touch—so much better! The album’s success is further enhanced by the presence of Victor Trias on tres and Alfredo de la Fé on solo violin. ¡Bailo!
