🎷🌍🎶🤝🇨🇺🇲🇱 Cuba / Mali connection for this live at Marciac led by Fatoumata Diawara and Roberto Fonseca. The six concert-format tracks on offer here move naturally between jazz, Latin and afrogroove. Although this recording dates from 2015, its genesis can be traced back four years to the recording of the album Yo, on which Fonseca had already embarked on an encounter with Africa, inviting Fatoumata on the track Bibisa. For this concert in Marciac, which is not called At Home for nothing, the two leaders, welcomed as if at home, came with a rich, hybrid line-up, drawing equally from the West Indies and Africa. The result is a back-and-forth, a marriage, a complicity, a complementarity as natural as it is talented. The set is published here on a double 10-inch, which is certainly a beautiful object, but requires you to get up a little too often to change sides, which is a little detrimental to the serenity of the listening experience!
