đ€đ„đșđ¶đșđŒ Cuban singer and percussionist Mario Salazar made his name with the likes of Carlos ‘Patato’ ValdĂšs, Mongo SantamarĂa and Roberto Torres. It was Torres who gave him the opportunity to produce his first records under his own name, on his SAR label from 1979. This one, ‘Papaito‘, after his usual nickname, was released the following year. The Cuban’s third opus is full of sound and danzon, and features Torres on guiro and backing vocals. The six tracks on this album are all good, but the cover of Aprietala En El Ricon, with its dazzling trumpet and flute choruses, is a case in point.
