In 1993 Jack le Jazzman was released, one of the rare records by singer David Dexter D. Sometimes classed as pop-jazz, sometimes as acid jazz, it is in any case an album of rare energy, which sails effectively around jazz, doesn’t get carried away, and doesn’t hesitate to touch on a few standards like Tutu. The album is released by Dreyfus, with some fine signings including Eric Seva, Richard Galliano, Marc Bellaïche… But why mention it here, you may ask, even if it is a very good record in itself? Well, just for the presence of Harry Gofin on bass and double bass, and Dominique Bérose on keyboards on three tracks. And that’s it. Only the promo EP was released on vinyl, the other formats being available only on CD. The clip for Jack le Jazzman features Dominique Bérose… also on trumpet!
