Alchimik’s – Raymond d’Huy, Jean-Michel Lesdel & Raymond Grego, 2010

,

The Alchimik’S trio was formed on the initiative of bassist Raymond d’Huy, pianist Jean-Michel Lesdel and Raymond Grego (drums) around 2008/2009. Three seasoned musicians who had not previously recorded together. The Alchimik’S album came out in 2010, with a number of big-name guests. First up were the late guitarists Philippe d’Huy and André Condouant. Alain Delos and Didier Juste take turns on percussion, while Olivier Cafafa (remember Zandoli?) plays saxophone on the cover of Raymond d’Huy’s hit Exotic Girl. Finally, on the title track, Patrice Coyo adds his vocals. Alchimik’S is a pure Creole jazz album by a Guadeloupean all-star, and we only regret that it was not followed by a second volume!
