In 1979, this -2- was not strictly speaking Irakéré’s second album, as others had been released before under the Grupo Irakéré name since 1973. The Cuban all stars, led by Chucho Valdes, Carlo Emilio Morales, Paquito d’Rivera, Arturo Sandoval, Oscar Valdes and the list goes on, continue to innovate around Latin tradition. Jazz, salsa, bolero… but also a hint of the disco funk influence that was a must during this period. And in the middle of the B-side, the explosive cover of Xiomara is worth the diversions alone!
