🎶🌺🎤🎵🎸 Ziskakan is the first album by the group of the same name, founded in 1979 on Reunion Island by Gilbert Pounia. Like other well-known artists such as Danyel Waro and Ti-Fock, Ziskakan highlights Creole culture, its richness, diversity and history on this first album, which moves from maloya to folk-Creole, blending in the Indian influences of its Tamil-born leader. Ziskakan achieved much wider recognition with Péi Bato Fou, their second album, released in 1983, and they are still going strong today, over forty years after their debut. A « hand-made » cassette edition also exists, released by Editions Ziskakan the following year.
