🎶🎤🎸🔥💔 But who are they? Well, that’s right, they’re Sakiyo. The group was put together on the spur of the moment by Michel Alibo, who was urgently called upon to perform at the Francofolies festival in 1987. Tony Chasseur, Jean-Paul Pognon, Mario Canonge and even Paco Séry originally formed this supergroup. The group went on to structure itself and produce an immediately successful debut album, Tracé, featuring the hit Bisou Sucré. The album came out in 1988, and Sakiyo’s supercharged zouk surprised everyone with its lyrics and real talk. Sakiyo’s music also took a rock turn, incorporating rap into its compositions. A second album, Kannaval, was released in 1990, but unfortunately, a band made up of leaders never lasts very long, and the careers of the individual members subsequently took over. An attempt was made to re-form the group last year, but it failed to get the ball rolling again.
