In the early 80s, the Steel Band Brasserie Lorraine picked up on Philippe Lavil’s success and recorded a third album entitled ‘Souvenirs in Steel’ on Pierre Rassin’s label. After Les Bambous, the tracklist includes other Caribbean favourites: Maladie d’Amour, Matilda… The Martiniquan band seems to be aiming more at a tourist audience than anything else on an album that lacks a little in its graphic production, but retains a real authenticity and of course masters its repertoire !
