🎤🇨🇩🎶🤝🌍 Nyboma is one of the historic figures of Congolese rumba and soukous. In the 70s, he was signed by Verckys for its Editions Veve publishing house. He met Pépé Kallé and formed the Lipua Lipua orchestra with him. He was later recruited to form Les Quatre Etoiles in Paris, with Bopol Mansiamina and Syran Mbenza. In 1986, he reunited with his old friend Pépé Kallé for the album Zouke Zouke, released by Syllart Production under the Empire Bakuba banner. In the meantime, he had collaborated with Abéti, Douleur, Ray Lema, Tabu Ley… In duet with Kallé, they give the best of themselves here, playing on the contrast of their voices. Behind them, a number of established names keep the house in order: Dally Kimoko, Lokassa Ya Bongo, Boffi Banengola, Elvis Nkounkou, Philippe Guez… The album is obviously aimed at the international market, and in particular the West Indies, with Zouke Zouke, sung in Creole! The Nyboma / Kallé pair were back at it again two years later with the no less excellent Moyibi, much to our delight. Come on, soukous!
