Oriental Brothers International is unstoppable, blending Afrobeat, makossa, merengue, soukous⊠influences. The group was born in the early 70âs in Eastern Nigeria â hence the name⊠â under the impetus of two Opara brothers, Godwin « Kabaka », guitarist, and Ferdinand « DanSatch » Chukwuemeka, lead guitarist and bassist. In 1977, the Brothers were enjoying great success with the release of their two long tracks â one on each side â Ugwu Manu Na Nwanne Ya and Kele Chi. Above all, the Oriental Brothers were still going strong, celebrating their fiftieth anniversary this year. The album O Ku Ngwo Di Ochi was released last June, in the purest Highlife instrumental tradition of the time!
