Bernard Pago, alias Marcé, is one of Martinique’s leading exponents of traditional music. A childhood friend of Eugène Mona, he also played the tibwa, chouval bwa and bèlè with his group Toumpack, as did his other friend, Dédé St-Prix and his group Pakatak. His eponymous debut album was released in 1983 by 3A Production, featuring Claude Germany, Alain Vandestoc, Philippe Burdy, Jacques Edouard « Bijou », Jean-Michel Sirencien « Gordon », Willy Léger, René Voltigeur, Simon Bironien, Joselita Eguadel-Jalème and Marie-Hélène Laucourt.
