🎸🇨🇲🎶🕵️♂️🌅 The duo formed by André Vajier and Eitel Eteki is as obscure as it gets. Vajier has disappeared from the radar and as for Eitel Eteki, he lives happily in the north of France. In the 80s (probably), the two Cameroonian musicians released the album Maleta on the no less obscure Tayou Records label, with the help of musicians who were by no means anonymous: Valéry Lobé, Moustick Ambassa, Douglas Mbida, Fredo Tété, Jimmy Mvondo… The album veers between makossa and mangambeu (the excellent Dimassa), and on Na Peti, the traditional slow song at the end of the first side, the guitar even has a hint of Californian blues rock. On the flip, Muna Iyo gets the ball rolling again, before Kakun Jaloux lets the guitars do their thing. Vajier and Eteki know how to write the blues, and show it again on Tu n’es Plus à Moi, with its reggae bass and rocking guitar, to round off a rather successful album.
