🇲🇶 🎤 🎶 🌿 📜 From the 1950s to the late 1970s, the Martinican singer Lola Martin made her mark among the greatest musicians. She sang the heritage of her island, accompanied by the likes of Marius Cultier, Fred Fanfant, and Emilien Antile, among many others. In 1968, Lola Martin chante la Martinique through song, and this collection revisits timeless classics such as Adieu Foulard! Adieu Madras!, Moin Descenn’ Saint Pierre, A Si Parer by Léona Gabriel, and Femme Martinique Dou by Francisco. Once again, the album—released by Disques Jojo, a precursor to Productions Georges Debs—lacks musician credits. Lola Martin would release her final album in 1998, accompanied by Alain Jean-Marie, Thierry Vaton, Eric Vinceno, Jean-Claude Montredon, and others.
