Le Temps Fou, pianist Jonathan Jurion‘s first album under his own name, is released on the young Komos Jazz label, founded by Antoine Rajon. As a trio, he has chosen to revisit the repertoire of Marion Brown, a singular figure in free jazz, immersing it in subtle Creole jazz. Jonathan Jurion is accompanied by Arnaud Dolmen, a long-time accomplice, and Michel Alibo, who plays double bass. Brown’s repertoire is brought to life in masterly fashion, and a number of guests – Olivier Juste, Josiah Woodson and Jowee Omicil – lend their support. Special mention must also go to the quality of the production, which is particularly meticulous, and the superb graphics by Brüno.
