Kompa Jazz – Franck Nicolas, 2023

Last year we mistakenly overlooked the excellent Kompa Jazz published by Franck Nicolas at the beginning of the year. This oversight has now been rectified on the Bananier bleu website. With the help of Grégory Privat, the brothers Thierry and Jean-Philippe Fanfant and others, Franck revisits jazz standards to the characteristic rhythm of kompa, and the result, particularly jubilant, is disarmingly natural.
