Escale à Tahiti – Trio Mareva, 1962

🇵🇫 🎸 🌺 🌊 🎶 In 1962, the short-lived Trio Mareva recorded the EP Escale à Tahiti, which remains one of the few traces of their existence on record. The EP features tamuré and Polynesian folk music, performed by the singer Mareva. She is accompanied by guitarists Teihotu and Taparé, both of whom were frequently credited in various local bands of the time. The cover artwork showcases the traditional vahiné, while an alternative version of the 45-rpm record highlights the rugged island landscapes of the Pacific.
