After starting out with the legendary Ibo Combo, Réginald Policard founded the Caribbean Sextet in 1976. On En Gala, released in 1980 on Mini Records (of course!), he is joined by Boulo Valcourt and Toto Laraque. After the impertinent but irresistible compas Chatte Fifi, the jazz and Latin accents become more precise, first on Chérie Ou La, then on the salsa Boss, with Policard switching from piano to electric keyboards with natural ease, as on Tounin La Caye, which closes the album. Reginald Policard has always pursued a solo career, as on the album Sa Sé Trop, already featured here, and remains one of the most sought-after pianists, as evidenced by his collaborations with the Déjean brothers, Emeline Michel, Beethova Obas, Jean Caze and others.
