Doing It – Skah Shah, 1976

,

đŸŽșđŸŒŽđŸŽ·đŸ„đŸ’ż Skah Shah was born in New York in 1973, when Yves ArsĂšne Appolon left Haiti to settle there, with the help of Georges Loubert Chancy, Jean Ely Telfort… This departure from Port-au-Prince also signalled the end of Shleu Shleu d’HaĂŻti. The new orchestra was particularly prolific, and Doing It, released in 1976, was already the fourth volume. It’s a very Latin album, with intros (Racine Core), percussion breaks (Do It) and charanga-style flute (Sandy, Zoute), and it goes particularly well with Skah Shah’s direct compas, bathed in always dazzling brass arrangements.
