🇻🇪🎤🎻🔥💃 Oscar D’León is one of the legends of salsa. The Venezuelan double bass player and singer has been making music for fifty years. In 1972, he formed Dimension Latina, which quickly spread throughout the Caribbean and as far afield as North America. D’León eventually left the orchestra and embarked on his solo career in 1978, which has continued to be as successful as ever. In 1983, he released Con Dulzura, which opened with a stunning cover of Calculadora, a vibrant tribute to Orquesta Aragón and its star flautist, Richard Egües. Throughout the seven tracks on the album, Oscar D’León alternates between the best salsa dura, irresistibly danceable, and some more nostalgic passages, which earn Con Dulzura its title! In both repertoires, Oscar D’León’s powerful voice works wonders for a landmark album in the history of salsa.
