Céça – Yvon Louissaint, 1979

,

🎤🇭🇹🎸🎹🎷 If you enjoyed Yvon Louissaint’s first solo album, Zin, then you’re sure to love his second, Céça, released the following year. In 1979, the former lead singer of Les Frères Déjean still excelled at seducing us with his very acoustic compas. Far from the big machines overloaded with brass, Louissaint prefers to swing with finesse, accompanied by guitar and piano, and puts his sharp words on three reference compas. On the title track, he converses with a falsely old-fashioned saxophone (unfortunately omitted from the credits), and distils some surprisingly obvious choruses that you immediately start humming along to. As on Zin, Yvon Louissaint concludes Céça with a bolero not to be missed under any circumstances, appropriately titled Inovidable!
