🎤🎶🥁🎉🎭 Charly Mana, André Chésimar, Charles Placide, Serge Arsène and Hubert Désir formed the Chanteurs des Isles du Vent, under the direction of Louis Elie, who worked with the François choir in Martinique. They performed West Indian classics and released several albums in the second half of the 70s. In 1979, it was the Carnaval des Antilles that was given pride of place on an album featuring two medleys of classics and several well-known songs from the season, such as En Pyjama, Papillon Volé and Vaval Ka Kitté Nou. Where things get serious is with the associated musician credits, because they are all seasoned references. From Guy Vadeleux to Al Lirvat, Léon Sainte-Rose to André Siobud… And I’m not far from thinking that this may also be the first appearance on record of a certain Mario Canonge, who was just nineteen at the time! So, allé déboulé en mas!
