Charanga Colonial – 1978

🎶🎷🎹🎤🇨🇺 Latin diversions to Cuba with the Charanga Colonial in 1978 on Neon, a label specializing in the genre. The group was led by Alfredo ValdĂ©s, with the participation of Roberto Torres, who was also the producer. It’s hardly surprising, then, that the six tracks, a mix of danzon and son cubano, are definitely irresistible, led by the virtuoso flute of Eddie Zervigon, who also wrote the arrangements. A slight preference for La Sitiera, and then the haunting Ven Y Ven that closes the album.
