Roots Caribbean Rock – The Gramacks feat. Jeff Joseph, 1984

,

🎵🔥🎸🎤💥 In the rich discography of the Gramacks with Jeff Joseph, the album Roots Caribbean Rock, released in 1984, and published by Franck Riahi Records, is one of those that met with the most public success. The nervous reggae of the title track sets the tone, but the whole album exudes this communicative energy, and to get across the political messages, the cadence-lypso doesn’t hesitate to saturate the guitars. It’s a big sound all round, whether it’s funk, rock, reggae or rhythm. On the B-side, the hit Debar Debar begins a long career and will be frequently covered by Jeff Joseph, and later integrated into the repertoire of Volt Face.
