Philippe Makaïa‘s self-titled debut album. The drummer from Morne à l’Eau, who lives in France, has finally released an album under his own name, on which the drum blends as much with the guitar as with the trombone or the cello. We’ve heard him with Gwo Siwo, Guy Konket’s Group’ Ka, Jean-Christophe Maillard’s Ka Suite, and in another register, he regularly collaborates with Liz McComb.
