In 1972, for their fifth album, Ensemble Méridionale des Cayes tackled the education of young girls with Maman Zô. Kompa illustrated with talent by J.T. Moïse and his biting pencil stroke. The copy pictured has more than travelled, recorded in Haiti, pressed in the US, sold in the Ivory Coast and finally acquired in Montpellier. And note the shop stamp, « next to the gendarmerie in Abobo Gare / Abidjan »!
