Zouk à Gogo – Tanya St-Val, 1989

,

🎤🎶🔥🇬🇵💃 With Zouk à Gogo, Tanya St-Val ends the 80s on the heels of her first three albums. Still under the direction of Willy Salzédo, and with an almost unchanged team, formed with Guy Houllier and Yves Honoré (alongside their Expérience 7 project), Frédéric Caracas, Daniel Kissoun, Christian Joseph-Lockel and others. The Guadeloupean singer’s zouk is always electric, and Zouk à Gogo has its fair share of hits, starting with the title track that opens the album. Tanya alternates tempos, seducing on the zouk love Lanmou Kreyol, with its smooth jazz arrangements, or on her slightly nostalgic composition Pou Nou Pé Sa Alé. The fine brass section of Slominski, Artero, Damant and Hoist also played a big part in the success of the arrangements. From the next album onwards, Soul Zouk, Tanya St-Val began to broaden and vary her collaborations, and with them the colours of her music. Go Zouk!
