The Haitian gem Zin by Yvon Louissaint et les Antillais, released in 1978. The brilliant troubadour was a member of the Frères Déjean band before embarking on his solo career. Life has not been kind to Louissaint, between addictions and illnesses – he ended up with almost all his fingers amputated, schizophrenic… His music is all the more remarkable for its delicacy. Three acoustic compas with delicate melodies and quirky lyrics, sometimes interspersed with breaks that are rather rare in this genre. And finally, a delicious medley of seductive boleros.
