🕺🎤🎶🇲🇶🔔 Émile Casérus is probably better known as Ti-Émile or Ti-Milo. The former cane cutter from Sainte-Marie, Martinique, was a well-known bèlè dancer and singer. Aimé Césaire hired him as a bèlè animator at the Centre Culturel Jean-Marie Serreau, the former Pitt de Dillon. He worked with Loulou Boislaville’s Ballets Martiniquais, and recorded several albums under his own name. Ti-Émile remains one of the key players in the popularisation of bèlè from the 60s onwards. So here, in 1975, is a collection of ‘New Christmas Carols‘ that I think you really need to brush up on as the traditional Chanté Nwel approaches.
