The reference Tabou Combo was created in 1968 in Haiti by Albert Chancy and the late Herman Nau. Two years later, the entire group, already crowned best group in Haiti, moved to Brooklyn, and it was in New York that they officially took the name Tabou Combo. Their first triumphant return to Haiti came in 1974, the year they released 8th Sacrement, certainly one of their best-known records, again led by Dadou Pasquet, who was soon to leave the group. And the success quickly crossed the Atlantic, so much so that the track New York City even reached the top of the charts in France!
