🎉🎂🎶🌟🎤 Let’s wish Jocelyne Béroard an excellent birthday on this September 12! An opportunity to look back at her second solo chapter, Milans, released in 1991. Without repeating the incredible performance of Siwo, which had earned her a double gold disc five years earlier, Jocelyne’s Milans was an undeniable success, but unfortunately remained a notch below its predecessor, despite its unquestioned qualities. The album still features most of Kassav »s members, but also a few other loyalists: Frédéric Caracas’s bass and Jean-Christophe Maillard’s guitar, for example. And exceptional backing vocals by Edith Lefel, Serge Ponsar, Grace Decca, Coco Mbassi and Xénia Caraïbe. The track Milans itself, and Jilo Mayé, are among the songs that rightly earned the album its reputation. A little scalded by this half-hearted success, we had to wait twelve long years for the release of Madousinay in 2003 to see the singer again as a leader.
