In 1975, the group Exile One met « Face au Public » to deliver some of their hits, including Gader Deye and Aki Yaka (l’Année de la Femme). Gordon Henderson and his team were on the rise and their cadence-lypso rhythm had the West Indies on their feet. This would be their last album with Debs – who had been with them from the start. The following year, although they were still based in Guadeloupe, the Dominican natives flew off to Paris to sign an historic contract with Barclay, a major label at the time. In the meantime, Henderson’s band had the Caribbean dancing, with Fitzroy Williams, Julie Mourillon, Oliver Cruickshank, Vivian Wallace, Kremlin Fingal and Pierre Labor, alongside another successful group of the time, the Gramacks, of course.
