Wabap – Al Lirvat, 2002

,

🎶🎤🎹🎺🎸 It was bassist Eric Vinceno who had taken matters into his own hands, directing and producing Al Lirvat’s latest recording, with the complicity of Ronald Rubinel. In 2002 this Biguine « Wabap » was released, on the label that the trombonist had applied to the ageing beguine forty years earlier. This was an opportunity to bring Al Lirvat’s compositions back into the limelight, update the arrangements and invite an impressive gallery of talent to perform them. On vocals alone, Kali, Marina Carliste, DĂ©dĂ© St-Prix, Ralph Thamar and Sylviane CĂ©dia. The list of musicians is equally impressive, from Bago to Jean-Claude Montredon, Mario Canonge, Alain Jean-Marie, Allen Hoist, Mario Masse and Jean-Philippe Fanfant. In short, a winning ticket and a successful bet for Eric Vinceno, who of course also lent a hand on the bass and a voice on the microphone.
