Breeze – Caribbean Jazz Ensemble, 1986

,

In 1986, Breeze, the second opus by Germain Cécé’s Caraïbe Jazz Ensemble, while very Creole, is probably the straightest jazz of them all. It’s also the group’s only album featuring Frédéric Caracas on bass. The rest of the album features all the band’s musicians, from Raymond Grego to Georges Juraver, Happy Lewis and Charly Chomereau-Lamotte. There’s also the flute of Olivier Vamur, a leading member of some of the most famous modern gwoka groups, Ka Lévé, Horizon and Simen’ Kontra.
