🎶👬🎤🎵💿 At the unflappable pace of two albums a year since their debut in 1975, the Opara brothers released the sixth album of the Oriental Brothers International Band, which they co-lead, in 1977. The infectious Igbo highlife of Godwin ‘Kabaka’ and Ferdinand ‘Dan-Satch’ Chukwuemeka Opara spans the album’s two long tracks, Origbu Onye Ozo and Ihe Eme Uwa Adimma, in the tradition of the genre, a classic in Ghana and Nigeria during the 70s. The album was released on Decca’s local Afrodisia label (Decca West Africa – DWA). From 1977 onwards, the group went through a series of splits, leading to the emergence of several parallel ‘Oriental Brothers Bands’. However, the two brothers have recently reunited, and in 2022 the historic Oriental Brothers released a number of new titles in digital format, under the aegis of the Colombian label Palenque.
