Jomolo Jomolo is Georges Seba‘s debut album. The musician, who hails from Ebolowa in Cameroon, is often known today for his gospel repertoire, but he has a much wider palette and has collaborated with the whole directory of Afro-Caribbean music, from Ben Decca to Kassav’, not forgetting Ismael Lô, Douglas Mbida, Baaba Mal, Abéti, Salif Keita, all the makossa figures… in short. So this first album, released in 1981, plunges into the rhythms of Cameroon with almost as many hits as tracks, between makossa, assiko, bikutsi… Jomolo Jomolo of course, but also Abakuya and Pane Pane. Oh yes, and the album is produced by Eddy Gustave, the well-known, multi-hatted saxophonist from Guadeloupe!
