Aziz’ Inanga – 1978

,

The previous year, the singer Aziz’Inanga had successfully represented Gabon at FESTAC 77, the second edition of the World Black and African Festival of Arts and Culture in Nigeria. In 1978, her popularity helped her to release her first album, in which she mixed modernity with traditional Gabonese music. Several albums followed until the end of the 80s, but Aziz’Inanga later put an end to her career for personal reasons. This first album, however, established her reputation as one of Gabon’s finest female singers, drawing on the country’s rich heritage, like Pierre Akendengue.
