Founded in 1989, Guadeloupian combo Poker JBZ released their second album, In Kréol’, in 2003, following Soft, released four years earlier. The group is led by Lucien Castry (b), with vocals by Sandra Jean-Charles. A warm mix of zouk, beguine and Creole jazz, with Jean-Claude Damprobe (g), Teddy Altone (sax), Tony Castry (dms), André Calmelet (keys), Didier Juste (perc) and backing vocals from Marie-Eve Calmelet, Nathalie Jeanlys and Patrice Hulman. More than thirty years after its creation, Poker JBZ is still going strong, and has produced four albums.
