Sa Sé Trop – Réginald Policard, 1997

Twenty-five years ago – in 1997 – came the release of Sa Sé Trop, the third album under his own name by Haitian pianist Réginald Policard. And yet, Policard’s career was already a long one, having begun as recently as twenty-five years earlier with Ibo Combo. He was just twenty… Between cool Creole jazz, Latin brass, hints of jazz funk (Why Not) and boleros (Ah, Stéphanie!) Sa Sé Trop sees contributions from talents such as Boulo Valcourt, Joël Widmaier, Michel Alibo and Jean-Philippe Fanfant among many others.
