During the 1970s, Congolese rumba orchestras proliferated in Zaire, following in the footsteps of such benchmarks as Verckys, Franco and others. Among them, guitarist Dino Vangu led the Makina Loka (not to be confused with Ricardo Lemvo’s current namesake orchestra), whose track Mobo (or sometimes Mobu) is featured here on this little 45 rpm released by Super Contact in 1976 for the African label.
