The golden age of the Eko Roosevelt legend stretched from 1975 to 1982. During this period, the brilliant Cameroonian composer released a series of hit tracks that mixed makossa, funk, disco and jazz. It is to this period that the excellent compilation published in 2017 by Nubiphone, under the supervision of Armand de Préseau, focuses. It includes the essential Kilimanjaro My Home and Fly me back to Kribi. Eko Roosevelt has long since retired from the music business. A traditional chief in Lobé, near Kribi, he has been running his village’s affairs for the last twenty years, in the paradise that is his home.
