Dans les ann\u00e9es 70, apr\u00e8s plusieurs 45 tours \u00e0 succ\u00e8s, le natif de Dibombari, pr\u00e8s de Douala, s\u2019\u00e9tait associ\u00e9 au guitariste Slim Pezin pour produire ses premiers albums. Africa Oumba, avec le succ\u00e8s Elongui, sort en 1975, puis ce <strong>Soul Castle<\/strong>, l\u2019ann\u00e9e suivante, avec entre autres Ashiko Edingue. Les influences m\u00eal\u00e9es des deux hommes donnent naissance un afro-makossa-funk m\u00e2tin\u00e9 de soul, de disco, de rock qui a fait leur r\u00e9putation et all\u00e8grement franchi les g\u00e9n\u00e9rations.
